R-155-89 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, <br />DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT <br />A COPY OF A CITY MEASURE TO THE <br />SPECIAL COUNSEL FOR THE CITY OF <br />COLTON FOR PREPARATION OF AN IMPARTIAL <br />ANALYSIS OF SAID CITY MEASURE <br />WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election is to be held in the <br />City of Colton, California, on June 5, 1990, at which there will <br />be submitted to the voters the following measure: <br />and; <br />Shall Ordinance No. 0-19A-89, to Provide for YES <br />Stabilization of Rents for Mobile Home Park <br />Spaces, be adopted? NO <br />WHEREAS, Election Code Section 5011 provides that whenever <br />any city measure qualifies for a place on the ballot, the <br />governing body may direct the city clerk to transmit a copy of the <br />measure to the City Attorney, unless the organization or salaries <br />of the office of the City Attorney are affected; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Attorney shall then prepare an impartial <br />analysis of the measure not exceeding 500 words in length showing <br />the effect of the measure on the existing law and the operation of <br />the measure and intended to be printed preceding the arguments for <br />and against the measure; and <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 0-19A-89 is 43 pages in length; <br />WHEREAS, preparation of an impartial analysis will greatly <br />assist the voters in their discernment; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Colton, because <br />of a potential interest in the subject matter of Ordinance No. <br />-1- <br />
