Page No. 59 <br />POLICY NO. 23 <br />SWIMMING POOL LOAD MANAGEMENT PROGRAM <br />A. Swimming Pool: A swimming pool is defined to be a permanently <br />installed swimming pool with permanently installed pump, motor, <br />filtering equipment and automatic timer to control the operation of the <br />pumping equipment. The pump motor must be rated at a minimum of 3/4 <br />horsepower. Spas are not covered in this definition. <br />B. Policy: Residential electric bills will be reduced by $3.00 per month <br />at those residences having its swimming pool pumping equipment set to <br />preclude operation from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily. The residential <br />electric customer must sign an agreement with the City detailing the <br />conditions of the program. Items to be part of the agreement include: <br />1. The residential electric customer agrees to allow an authorized <br />City of Colton employee to an occasional inspection of the <br />automatic timer to assure compliance with the program. <br />2. The residential electric customer agrees to hold the City harmless <br />for any problems with the swimming pool which are alleged to have <br />occurred because of the change in the timing of the operation of <br />the pumping equipment. <br />C. Termination: Once instituted, the $3.00 per month reduction will <br />remain in effect until one of the following occurs: <br />1. The residential electric customer notifies the Electric Department <br />of voluntary cancellation from the program. <br />2. The residential electric customer's name on the electric account <br />receiving a credit changes. <br />*3. The City, upon visual inspection, determines that the pool <br />equipment is being operated during the restricted period. <br />*4. The City, upon visual inspection, determines -that the pool pump <br />equipment is no longer being automatically timed or is no longer <br />being used. <br />5. Upon determination by the City that continuation of the program is <br />no longer in the best interest of the City. <br />*Should this circumstance occur, the residential electric customer must wait <br />until the following summer to again participate in the program. <br />ISSUED BY <br />Gale A.
