Page No. 44 <br />POLICY NO. 22 <br />STREET LIGHTING <br />A. Street Lights - Definition: <br />Lights which are installed on new streets or existing streets when the <br />level of lighting must be increased due to changes in street classification <br />or improvements. <br />B. Installation: <br />The installation of street light systems will be done by the developer or <br />the Utility at the discretion of the Utility. The developer will be <br />required to contribute funds and install street lighting equipment in <br />subdivisions or land developments per City of Colton specifications. <br />C. Payment: <br />Payment will be made at the time building permits are issued and shall <br />apply to all land subdivisions and property developments. <br />D. Quantity and Style: <br />one street light shall be installed an average of every 150 feet of <br />property frontage on any street within the development as determined by <br />the City of Colton. <br />1. 70-100 watt HPS light fixtures shall be installed on all residential <br />streets within a development. <br />2. 100-150 watt HPS light fixtures shall be installed on all industrial <br />or commercial streets within a development. <br />3. Size and style shall be determined by the City in keeping with the <br />decor of the area per City of Colton specifications. <br />E. Cost: <br />When the Utility installs the street light standards, fixtures, and <br />provides and installs wiring, the developer/owner will be charged in <br />advance a sum of $800 per marbelite standard. If an existing utility pole <br />is used for the light, the developer/owner will be required to pay the <br />estimated total cost of the street light fixture. <br />ISSUED BY <br />Gale A.
