City of Colton <br />Community Childcare Administrative Assistant (continued) <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (continued) <br />Interview prospective program applicants, assessing needs and <br />eligibility, and prepare necessary intake documentation. <br />Assist in the planning of program special events. <br />Perform other related duties as assigned. <br />DESIRABLE OUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowledge of• <br />Fundamental principles and practices of program/project <br />administration. <br />Cultural needs and interests of minority families. <br />Standard office administrative practices and procedures. <br />Record keeping and report writing techniques. <br />Basic supervisory principles and practices. <br />Ability to: <br />Provide responsible administrative assistance to top level <br />management. <br />Use initiative and independent judgement within established <br />guidelines. <br />Analyze and resolve office administrative situations and <br />problems. <br />Research, compile and summarize a variety of informational <br />materials. <br />Organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and <br />follow up on assignments with a minimum of direction. <br />Type at a speed sufficient to perform duties assigned. <br />Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. <br />Establish and maintain effective working relationships with <br />those contacted in the course of work. <br />
