R-24-92 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />APPROVING A CERTAIN REVISED AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AMENDED <br />JOINT EXERCISE OF POWERS AGREEMENT CREATING THE INLAND <br />VALLEY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY AND RESCINDING ITS <br />RESOLUTION NOS. R-120-91 AND R-12-92 AND CERTAIN <br />ACTIONS TAKEN IN CONNECTION THEREWITH <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton, California (the "City"), <br />is a member of the Inland Valley Development Authority (the <br />"Authority") which is a joint powers authority formed by the <br />legislative bodies of its members pursuant to Section 6500, et. <br />sea., of the California Government Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the Authority was formed for the purpose of <br />determining whether the redevelopment of Norton Air Force Base <br />("NAFB") and properties adjacent and in proximity thereto is <br />feasible for the purposes of preserving and creating employment <br />opportunities necessitated by the announced closure of NAFB; and <br />WHEREAS, the Authority has previously caused the <br />preparation and execution of a certain agreement entitled Amended <br />Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement creating the Inland Valley <br />Development Agency, a copy of which is on file with the City <br />Clerk and which is incorporated herein by this reference; and <br />WHEREAS, the Authority has deemed it desirable to cause <br />an amendment to the Amended Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement <br />which amendment is primarily of a technical nature and relates to <br />the administration of the Authority and the voting procedures to <br />- 1 - <br />
