City of Colton <br />Substation Test Technician (continued) <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowledge of• <br />Advanced theory, methods, and procedures in the installation <br />and maintenance of testing instruments and equipment. <br />City and departmental procedures, rules, and regulations for <br />electrical distribution system. <br />High voltage safety rules and regulations. <br />Principles and practices of supervision. <br />Ability to• <br />Supervise and train assigned staff. <br />Make independent decisions in field situations with efficiency <br />and effectiveness. <br />Experience and Training: <br />Any combination of experience and training that would likely <br />provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. <br />A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br />Experience• <br />Three years as a journey level technician performing <br />installation, maintenance, and testing of relays, <br />regulators, meters, and other related instruments and <br />high voltage equipment. <br />Education/ raining: <br />Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade <br />supplemented by specialized training in electrical theory <br />and practices. <br />License or Certificate: <br />Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class "C" <br />California driver's license. <br />Approved By Council: <br />JD2:SSTT.WP <br />
