MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN <br />DEFINITION <br />Perform skilled electrical work in the installation, alteration, <br />maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment and <br />fixtures. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br />Under the general supervision of the Substation Superintendent. May <br />receive technical and functional supervision from the Substation <br />Test Technician. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES <br />Install conduits, wires, relays, pull boxes, switch boards, and <br />switches required in making additions, extensions or alterations in <br />electrical systems. <br />Repair and replace defective parts in motors, air conditioners, <br />generators, pumps, relays, storage batteries, switch boards, <br />controllers, switches and other fixtures and appliances. <br />Install and maintain water production and distribution control and <br />measuring devices. <br />Test, locate and repair defects in electrical circuits or <br />equipment. <br />Assist in the installation and modification of communication and <br />computer equipment. <br />Assist in general maintenance activities. <br />Performs related duties as assigned. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowledge of• <br />Standard practices, materials, tools and equipment of the <br />electrical maintenance trade. <br />Occupational hazards and standard safety precautions of the <br />trade. <br />Applicable electrical codes. <br />
