SENIOR RECREATION LEADER <br />Definition: <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />Develop, coordinate, and implement a variety of recreational and <br />community programs in an assigned area of responsibility; provide <br />responsible staff assistance; may supervise full and part-time <br />recreational staff. <br />Supervision Received and Exercised: <br />Receives direct supervision from the Parks, Recreation and Human <br />Services Director, Recreation Services Manager or designee. <br />May exercise direct supervision over subordinate personnel. <br />Examples of Duties: Duties include, but are not limited to, the <br />following. <br />Operate various recreation and community programs including <br />submitting budgets and monthly reports in a timely manner. <br />Coordinate all related activities offered through the department. <br />Act as liaison between the community and the City of Colton. <br />Recruit program participants through effective use of media, <br />flyers, and brochures, including public service announcements <br />(PSA's) and local newspapers. <br />Develop program concepts based on public demand and needs. <br />Supervise staff, provide guidance, training, and evaluations when <br />appropriate. <br />Perform other related duties as assigned. <br />Desirable Oualifications: <br />Knowledge of: <br />Recreation and community needs of various age groups. <br />Program promotion and marketing. <br />Basic concepts of contracts for recreation and community <br />programs. <br />Objectives and philosophies related to a city program. <br />
