Enforces operating and safety procedures. <br />Conducts on the job training and participates in the evaluation of <br />employee performance. <br />Operates street maintenance equipment and participates in the work <br />of other crew members. <br />Maintains records of work performed and prepares related reports. <br />Acts as the Street Supervisor in his/her absence. <br />OUALIFICATIONS: <br />Knowledge of• <br />Equipment operation, techniques, and methods used in street <br />maintenance and traffic striping, record keeping, budgeting, <br />and purchasing procedures. <br />Laws, codes, safety orders, and safe work practices. <br />Supervision and training techniques. <br />Ability to• <br />Supervise the work of crews. <br />Allocate equipment, materials, and personnel in a cost <br />effective manner. <br />Read and interpret blueprints, work sketches, and specialized <br />maps. <br />Prepare work records and reports. <br />Inspect work performed to ensure compliance with <br />specifications. <br />Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. <br />Understand and follow verbal and written directions. <br />Experience and Training: <br />Any combination of experience and training that would likely <br />provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. <br />A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br />Experience• <br />Three years of increasingly responsible experience in <br />public works maintenance and repair work, including one <br />year in a lead or supervisory capacity. <br />
