D. Training and Travel Time <br />Training time outside normally scheduled work hours shall be <br />compensated pursuant to Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Section <br />785.27 et sea. <br />Travel time outside normally scheduled work hours shall be <br />compensated pursuant to CFR Section 785.33, et sea. When feasible, the <br />Department will adjust the employee's work schedule to minimize the <br />impact of travel and training time. <br />E. City Vehicle Use <br />Employees who are provided with a City vehicle to travel to and <br />from their regular work site shall not be compensated in any manner <br />whatsoever for such travel time in the City vehicle. No employee other <br />than those on authorized standby duty will be allowed to take a City <br />vehicle home if the distance is greater than 15 miles one way. <br />This provision also applies in those situations where the radio <br />must be left on and monitored. <br />F. Call Back Pay <br />Call back duty occurs when a full-time employee is ordered to <br />return to duty on a non -regularly scheduled work shift. Call back does <br />not occur when an employee is held over from his/her prior shift or is <br />working prior to his/her regularly scheduled shift on a preplanned <br />basis. An employee called back to duty shall be credited with two <br />hours in addition to actual time worked. Actual time shall be <br />calculated from the time employee arrives at worksite until completion <br />of work. An employee will be credited with a total of one hour at <br />time -and -one-half to cover travel to and from the worksite. <br />An employee on call back shall not be eligible for an additional <br />call back bonus of two hours if she/he is dispatched to another call <br />prior to returning to his/her residence. <br />G. Standby Pay <br />A full-time employee on standby may leave a telephone number where <br />he/she may be reached while on standby. An employee shall be able to <br />respond from such phone number within 30 minutes. If another <br />bargaining unit is granted a longer response time, the general unit <br />shall have the same response time. Alternatively, the City may provide <br />a "beeper" for the employees. <br />Standby pay shall be earned by each full-time employee working <br />regularly scheduled eight hour days from Friday at the end of the <br />working day, for a period not to exceed seven days.
