an employee on standby eight hours straight time of compensatory time <br />off. when a City recognized holiday falls during the standby week, the <br />employee shall earn an additional eight hours straight time of <br />compensatory time off. Such compensatory time off shall be used <br />according to Section 3 B above. <br />Standby pay shall be earned by each full-time employee working <br />regularly scheduled ten hour days from Thursday at the end of the <br />working day, for a period not to exceed seven days unless extended by <br />holiday. The City shall pay an employee on standby ten hours straight <br />time of compensatory time off. When a City recognized holiday falls <br />during the standby week, the employee shall earn an additional ten <br />hours straight time of compensatory time off. Such compensatory time <br />off shall be used according to Section 3 B above. <br />Section 4: <br />Acting Pay <br />A full-time employee assigned to work in a higher classification <br />for a period of 80 consecutive work hours or more shall receive <br />compensation from the first day. Administrative Policy #4.05.170 shall <br />be followed with only the proscribed pay increase and no increase in <br />benefits provided to an employee in acting pay status. <br />The City agrees that represented employees working out of class <br />shall be properly trained prior to out -of -class assignment. <br />Acting appointments shall be made based on the needs of the City. <br />Appointees shall meet the minimum qualifications for the position <br />whenever possible. If they do not, it will be clearly noted on their <br />PAR that their acting appointment does not automatically qualify them <br />for any future recruitment to fill such position on a regular basis. <br />Eligible employees' experience and job knowledge shall be given major <br />consideration before an appointment is made. <br />The department head shall post a notice on bulletin boards which <br />employees have access to of the intent to make such an appointment at <br />least one week prior to making an acting appointment. Employees shall <br />advise the department head in writing if they are interested in being <br />considered for such an appointment. The department head shall be under <br />no obligation to interview all such employees prior to making an acting <br />appointment, however, if interviews are held, all interested employees <br />who meet the minimum qualifications shall be interviewed. This <br />provision shall not apply in cases of emergency. <br />Section 5: Longevity Pay <br />Full-time employees who have been at E Step for two years and have <br />received satisfactory performance evaluations for both years shall <br />receive a one time two percent longevity adjustment. <br />GBN MOU - 1993 <br />GRJ:KU 062493 <br />-8- <br />
