disability. The employee may choose to supplement the disability <br />allowance with accumulated paid leave up to a maximum of 100% of base <br />salary including the disability allowance. However, should the <br />employee elect to use sick leave, the equivalent dollar value shall be <br />deducted from the disability allowance. <br />Section 7: Tuition Reimbursement <br />The City agrees to reimburse full-time employees up to $1,500 per <br />employee, per calendar year, so long as funds are available, for 100% <br />of costs of tuition and books incurred for job-related education. Such <br />expenditure must enhance the furtherance of City or continuing <br />educational goals. Requests for such reimbursement must be approved by <br />the Department Head and Personnel Officer. Employee -initiated <br />educational or area development shall not be considered as time <br />actually worked for purposes of computing overtime and normally shall <br />not occur during regular work hours. <br />Section 8: Training and Education <br />When a department head desires to send an employee to <br />training/education on City time and/or at City expense, such <br />training/education opportunity shall be posted at least one week prior <br />to the department head deciding who to send. Employees interested in <br />attending shall advise the department head in writing of their interest <br />in being considered. The department head shall be under no obligation <br />to schedule one or more of such employees for such a course. This <br />provision shall not apply if there is an earlier deadline to meet. <br />Section 9: Uniforms <br />Whenever the City furnishes uniforms to employees, such uniforms <br />shall be worn at all times during working hours. Supervisors are not <br />required to wear a uniform when engaged in duties away from their <br />regular work crew or when acting on behalf of their Superintendent. <br />1. The City will furnish to each affected employee three uniforms <br />each year. Employees assigned to the Auto Shop receive five uniforms <br />per year. <br />2. The uniforms shall be replaced during the year for damage <br />occurring in the line of duty, with approval of the Department Head. <br />Uniforms will not be worn while off duty. <br />3.
