Section 6: Provisions Covering Regular Part-time Employees
All sections of this MOU apply to employees in full-time and
regular part-time positions unless specifically restricted to regular
full-time employees.
ARTICLE II: COMPENSATION
Section 1:
Salary
All employees shall receive a base salary as set forth in the Pay
and Classification Plan for the City of Colton.
Section 2: Retirement
A. Full -Time Employees
The City will pay the employees' contribution of seven percent to
the Public Employees' Retirement System (P.E.R.S.) and provide
retirement benefits as currently specified under the City's contract
with P.E.R.S. All such contributions shall be deposited in the
Member's Retirement Account. Other benefits provided include:
1. 2% at age 60 formula
2. One year final compensation
3. Military buyback
In addition, employees may choose to have their sick leave
and/or vacation time accrued during their final year of employment
converted to salary on a prospective basis in the form of a written
request to the Finance Department. In like manner, they may choose
to receive the employee's contribution as salary during their final
year of employment. Such employee would then be responsible for
paying their employee contribution. The effective date may be
delayed if lengthy P.E.R.S. contract amendment procedures are
necessary. This provision is based on the City obtaining written
confirmation from P.E.R.S. that these options are still available
to P.E.R.S. employees.
B. Part -Time Employees
The City and regular part-time employees shall each contribute
3.75% of salary to a deferred compensation plan to comply with the
federal Omnibus Reconciliation Act of 1990.
GEN MOU - 1993
GRJ:KD 062493 - -
