CITY OF COLTON <br />ASSISTANT TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR <br />DEFINITION <br />Under administrative direction provides professional and technical <br />staff assistance to the Executive Director of the Redevelopment <br />Agency. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br />Receives administrative direction from the Executive Director. <br />May exercise direct supervision over professional, technical and <br />clerical positions. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, <br />the following: <br />Assist in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, <br />policies and priorities of the Executive Director. <br />Conduct studies, surveys and collect information on operational and <br />administrative problems; analyze findings and report on practical <br />solutions and improved methods and procedures. <br />Prepare manuals and other formal statements of improved procedures, <br />methods, and systems of operation; assist in the implementation of <br />improved procedures, methods, and systems. <br />Serve as special staff assistant in conducting assigned <br />investigations; prepare reports and make recommendations pertaining <br />thereto. <br />Confer with individuals requesting service or making complaints on <br />matters of general importance to the City; dispose of or refer <br />cases in accordance with established policies and regulations. <br />Prepare informational material for monthly, special, and annual <br />reports. <br />Follow up on assignments to determine progress and projected dates <br />of completion of projects. <br />Represent the Executive Director in meetings and on committees with <br />business and citizens' groups; advise and provide general <br />leadership to civic organizations dealing with specific problems <br />affecting the City's welfare; <br />Respond to difficult citizen inquiries and complaints. <br />Serve as the City's Disaster Preparedness Coordinator. <br />Perform related duties as required. <br />1 <br />
