CITY OF COLTON <br />Senior Business License and Collections Officer (continued) <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowledge of• <br />State Collection Law and City collections policies and <br />procedures. <br />City departmental policies and procedures as they relate to <br />Business Licenses. <br />Modern office practices and procedures. Principles of <br />financial record keeping. <br />Ability to• <br />Learn applicable business license and related municipal codes <br />and ordinances. <br />Maintain financial and statistical records. Interpret and <br />enforce municipal codes and ordinances. <br />Respond to inquiries, complaints and requests in a fair, <br />tactful and firm manner. <br />Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. <br />Maintain effective working relationships with those contacted <br />in the course of work. <br />EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION - Any combination of experience and <br />education that would likely provide the required knowledge and <br />abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and <br />abilities would be: <br />Experience <br />Four years of increasingly responsible experience in the <br />maintenance of financial and statistical records. <br />Education <br />Equivalent to the twelfth grade, preferably supplemented by <br />specialized training in accounting, Public or Business <br />Administration or a related field. <br />LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE <br />Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid <br />California Class "C" driver's license. <br />APPROVED BY COUNCIL: <br />JD3:SRBUSLIC <br />-2- <br />
