RESOLUTION NO. R-69-17 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />AUTHORIZING THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COMMUNITY SERVICES <br />DEPARTMENT AND THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY SUPERINETENDENT <br />OF SCHOOLS FOR THE AB 212 EDUCATIONAL STIPEND PROGRAM. <br />7 WHEREAS, the AB 212 Educational Stipend Program is an incentive program designed to <br />encourage teachers working in state -funded child development programs to pursue training and <br />8 education, and to remain in the field of early childhood education; and <br />9 WHEREAS, the program is funded through the Budget Act of 2000-01, Assembly Bill 212, <br />10 which provided funding for agencies that offer care and development services; and <br />11 WHEREAS, the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools provides stipends to <br />those who work for Agencies that are direct contractors with the California Department of <br />12 Education (CDE) through a single annual payment directly to the City. <br />13 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton does hereby resolve as follows: <br />14 <br />Section 1: The staff report accompanying this resolution is found to be true, adopted as findings, <br />15 and incorporated into this resolution. <br />16 Section 2: City Council approves pass -through educational stipends to qualified childcare <br />17 professionals is contingent upon satisfying the minimum qualifications of eligible teachers in <br />accordance with the program. <br />18 <br />Section 3: Funds designated for the AB 212 Educational Stipend Program, funded through the <br />19 San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, will be receipted and paid from account <br />�n number 762-2360-000. <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />Section 3: The City Manager, as the Executive Director of the program, is hereby authorized <br />to sign the applicable documents on behalf of the City to execute this agreement. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5" day of September, 2017. <br />RICHARD DE LA ROSA, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Carolina R.
