R-63-96 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON ESTABLISHING TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br />OF EMPLOYMENT OF THE CITY ATTORNEY AND <br />SETTING COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS <br />WHEREAS, Government Code Sections 36595 and 36506 authorize the City Council <br />of the City of Colton (the "City") to adopt a resolution appointing a City Attorney who shall <br />serve at the pleasure of the City Council on such terms as may be set and agreed upon and to <br />fix the compensation of the City Attorney; and <br />WHEREAS, the current City Attorney was appointed by Resolution No. R-60-93 <br />adopted on August 10, 1993 and has served in that capacity continuously since that time; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the budget for the City Attorney for fiscal <br />year 1996-97 and finds and determines that it is appropriate to revise the terms and conditions <br />of employment for the position of City Attorney and to establish that position as a regular <br />position within the City of Colton in order to implement the 1996-97 Fiscal Year budget as <br />adopted. <br />NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1 There shall be established in the City of Colton the position of City <br />Attorney. <br />SECTION 2 The City Attorney shall serve at the pleasure of the City Council subject <br />to the terms and conditions of employment set forth in this resolution. <br />SECTION 3 Compensation for the position of City Attorney shall be established on a <br />salary grid basis with five step increments, each step representing completion of one year of <br />
