R- 85 -96 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A <br />A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE CONSOLIDATED WITH THE <br />PRESIDENTIAL GENERAL ELECTION ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 1996, <br />FOR THE SUBMISSION OF THE QUESTION OF THE RECALL OF A <br />CERTAIN OFFICER AND THE ELECTION OF CANDIDATES TO FILL THE <br />VACANCY IF THE RECALL PREVAILS. <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of the law relating to cities in the <br />State of California, a recall petition was filed demanding the recall of <br />George V. Fulp, Mayor; and <br />WHEREAS, in the course of conduct of the election it is necessary <br />for the City of Colton to request services of the County of San Bernardino; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, all necessary expenses in performing this service shall be <br />paid by the City of Colton, and, <br />WHEREAS, the petition was signed by more than 22 per cent of the <br />registered voters of the City of Colton, at large; and <br />WHEREAS, a candidate shall be elected to fill the vacancy if the <br />recall prevails; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is authorized and directed by statute to <br />submit the proposed recall to the voters; <br />Page 1 <br />
