R-87-96 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON APPOINTING INTERIM CITY MANAGER <br />AND ESTABLISHING TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF <br />EMPLOYMENT AND SETTING COMPENSATION <br />WHEREAS, the City Council by minute action appointed Malik Dantala Freeman <br />I Interim City Manager on July 16, 1996; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton does not have a salary classification for the position of <br />City Manager, but instead has in the past set salary and compensation for this position by <br />resolution; and <br />WHEREAS, Resolution R-112-94 under which the salary for the former City Manager <br />was originally set provided that the salary of the City Manager should be set at $100,000; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that it is appropriate to continue the <br />salary set by Resolution R-112-94 in effect for this position at the present time on an interim <br />basis; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council also wishes to establish terms, conditions and benefits <br />associated with the position of Interim City Manager; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to reserve the right to reconsider salary, as well <br />as terms and conditions of employment for the permanent position of City Manager. <br />NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The interim appointment of Malik Dantala Freeman ("Freeman") as City <br />Manager of the City of Colton is hereby continued for an indefinite term in accord with the <br />provisions of Section 2.16.020 of the Colton Municipal Code. <br />
