EXHIBIT A AGREEMENT FOR LEGAL SERVICES City Attorney and Redevelopment Agency General Counsel THIS AGREEMENT is made as of the 16th day of June, 1998, by and among the CITY OF COLTON, a California municipal corporation, the CITY OF COLTON REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, a public body corporate and politic, (collectively, the "City"), and BEST BEST & KRIEGER LLP, a limited liability partnership engaged in the practice of law. The City wishes to engage the services of Best Best & Krieger LLP as City Attorney on the terms set forth below. 1. Term. The term of this Agreement shall commence on July 1, 1998 and shall continue in full force and effect until terminated in accordance with Section 10. 2. Scope of Services. Best Best & Krieger LLP shall serve as City Attorney and General Counsel to the Redevelopment Agency and shall perform all legal services (the "Services") as may be required from time to time by the City and Agency as set forth and limited by this Agreement, unless otherwise agreed to by City and Best Best & Krieger LLP. As part of the Services to be performed hereunder, Best Best & Krieger LLP shall be responsible for preparation for and regular attendance at regular City Council meeting, Agency Board meetings, and Planning Commission meetings as necessary, and attendance at City Hall office hours as may be required from time to time by the City and its officers and employees.
