1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />14607.6 (a) Subject to Forfeiture as a nuisance: and <br />WHEREAS, a study conducted by the City Police staff in December, 1999, found that the <br />current average personnel cost to the City for impounding a vehicle is $250.88 (Exhibits <br />Attached) for the Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the persons whose vehicles are impounded should bear the administrative <br />and processing cost for such impounds, rather than the pubic as a whole; and <br />WHEREAS, it would be unfair to charge an administrative and processing fee to the <br />vehicle owner for the impounding of stolen vehicles [Vehicle Code Section 22651 (c)] or for <br />the impounding of vehicles left by injured or ill drivers [Vehicle Code Section 22651 (g)]; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, situations may arise that warrant the exercise of prudent discretion to forego <br />or excuse the proposed service fee. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton does resolve as follows: <br />Section I That the following fee schedule is hereby adopted for the purpose of <br />recovering the cost of the City's vehicle impound services; <br />Section 2 That the administrative and processing fee for vehicles impounded <br />under California Vehicle Code Sections 22651 (a), (b), (d), (e), (f), (i) (1), (k), (1), <br />(m), (n), (r), and 22669 shall be $75.00 (seventy-five dollars and no cents); <br />Section 3 That the administrative and processing fee for vehicles impounded <br />under California Vehicle Code Sections 22651 (h) (1), (h) (2), (o) (1), (p), <br />22655.3, 22655.5 (a) & (b), 14602.6 (a), and 14607.6 (a), shall be $200.00 (two <br />hundred dollars and no cents); <br />2 <br />
