1VXTTTTT?T9r A CITY OF COLTON MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BY AND BETWEEN THE COLTON POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION (RANK AND FILE UNIT) AND THE CITY OF COLTON This document contains a summary of the modifications to the wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment of Colton Police Officers' Association (the Association) members which have been negotiated pursuant to Government Code Section 3500, et M. which is generally referred to as the Meyers-: Milias-Brown Act. These modifications shall be incorporated in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) upon the approval of the City Council of the City of Colton and ratification by the Association and will be placed into effect upon the adoption of the necessary ordinances and resolutions by the City Council, if acceptable to them, in accordance with the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth. 1. TERM OF AGREEMENT: The agreement will last for a three year period beginning July 1, 2000 and ending midnight June 30, 2003. II. SALARY: The City will provide to all unit employees a base salary increase of 6% effective during the payroll period in which July 1, 2001 falls. In addition, the City will provide to all employees a 7% salary increase effective the payroll period in which July 1, 2002 falls. PERS, RETIREMENT PROGRAM: The City agrees to implement and pay for the full cost of Government Code 21362.2 (the 3% at 50 PERS retirement program) as soon as possible after this agreement is signed. IV. HOLIDAY LEAVE: The Association agrees to modify Article IV, Section 2 of the MOU to provide that employees may carry over from fiscal year to fiscal year (July I — June 30) no more than 240 hours of accrued but unused holiday leave. Any balance on June 30 that exceeds the 240 -hour cap shall be paid to the employee in cash at the employee's regular rate of pay. 12/18/00 00740.DOC
