1VXTTTTT?T9r A <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BY AND BETWEEN <br />THE COLTON POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION <br />(RANK AND FILE UNIT) <br />AND <br />THE CITY OF COLTON <br />This document contains a summary of the modifications to the wages, hours and other terms and <br />conditions of employment of Colton Police Officers' Association (the Association) members which have <br />been negotiated pursuant to Government Code Section 3500, et M. which is generally referred to as the <br />Meyers-: Milias-Brown Act. These modifications shall be incorporated in a Memorandum of <br />Understanding (MOU) upon the approval of the City Council of the City of Colton and ratification by the <br />Association and will be placed into effect upon the adoption of the necessary ordinances and resolutions <br />by the City Council, if acceptable to them, in accordance with the terms and conditions hereinafter set <br />forth. <br />1. TERM OF AGREEMENT: The agreement will last for a three year period beginning July 1, <br />2000 and ending midnight June 30, 2003. <br />II. SALARY: The City will provide to all unit employees a base salary increase of 6% effective <br />during the payroll period in which July 1, 2001 falls. In addition, the City will provide to all <br />employees a 7% salary increase effective the payroll period in which July 1, 2002 falls. <br />PERS, RETIREMENT PROGRAM: The City agrees to implement and pay for the full cost <br />of Government Code 21362.2 (the 3% at 50 PERS retirement program) as soon as possible after <br />this agreement is signed. <br />IV. HOLIDAY LEAVE: The Association agrees to modify Article IV, Section 2 of the MOU to <br />provide that employees may carry over from fiscal year to fiscal year (July I — June 30) no more <br />than 240 hours of accrued but unused holiday leave. Any balance on June 30 that exceeds the <br />240 -hour cap shall be paid to the employee in cash at the employee's regular rate of pay. <br />12/18/00 <br />00740.DOC <br />
