F.XMRIT A <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BY AND BETWEEN <br />THE COLTON POLICE DISPATCHERIRECORDS CLERK UNIT (CWA) <br />AND <br />THE CITY OF COLTON <br />This document contains a summary of the modifications to the wages, hours and other terms and <br />conditions of employment of Colton Police Dispatcher/Records Clerk Unit (CWA) members which have <br />been negotiated pursuant to Government Code Section 3500, et sec . which is generally referred to as the <br />Meyers-Milias-Brown Act. These modifications shall be incorporated into a Consolidated Memorandum <br />of Understanding (MOU) upon the approval of the City Council of the City of Colton and will be placed <br />into effect upon the adoption of the necessary ordinances and resolutions by the City Council, if <br />acceptable to them, in accordance with the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth. <br />I. TERM OF AGREEMENT: The agreement will last for a three year period beginning July 1, <br />2000 and ending midnight June 30, 2003. <br />II. SALARY: The City will provide a 7 % salary increase for all employees in the unit effective <br />the first payroll period in which July 1, 2001 falls and an additional 1 '/2% for the Dispatcher "job <br />family". In addition, the City will provide to all employees a6 %2 % salary increase effective the <br />payroll period in which July 1, 2002 falls. <br />III. GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE: The Union agrees to modifying Article II, Section 4, <br />Subsection B (3) of the Consolidated MOU to specify that performance appraisals, denial of <br />merit increases, and disciplinary actions equivalent to 3 day suspensions are not appealable under <br />the grievance procedure. <br />IV. PERS RETIREMENT PROGRAM: The City agrees meet and confer with the union, at the <br />same approximate time it meets with other employee Unions or Associations, if the city or <br />another "miscellaneous" union or Association proposes adding PERS retirement benefits. <br />01/23/01 <br />Exhibit CWA 0603 MOU.doc <br />
