R-31-01 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE <br />ABANDONMENT OF PORTION A OF "H" STREET <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Colton having elected to proceed under the <br />provisions of Section 8300 et seq. of the Streets and Highway Code of the State of California, and <br />having held a Public Hearing as provided therein, hereby finds from all the evidence submitted that all <br />that portion of "H" Street as shown by legal description (See Exhibit "A") is unnecessary for present <br />or prospective public street use for the following reasons: <br />A. The reduced width of "H" Street will continue to permit two-way vehicular traffic. <br />B. The parallel parking spaces along "H" Street between 9th and 10th Streets that will be <br />eliminated by the proposed Street Vacation will be replaced by additional angled <br />parking spaces along 10th Street between "G" Street and Valley Boulevard. <br />C. There are other streets in the vicinity of the project that would provide similar access <br />routes to the surrounding residential, commercial and office/business uses. <br />Section 2. The City Council hereby reserves and excepts from these vacation proceedings all <br />easements as may be necessary for all existing or future public utilities, and their successors in <br />interest, to construct, maintain, operate replace, enlarge, remove and renew all public utility facilities <br />and appurtenant structures in, upon, over, beneath, under, below, above, and across that portion of <br />"H" Street that is hereby vacated in compliance with all applicable local and state laws and regulations <br />and as may be necessary to construct, maintain, operate, replace, enlarge, remove and renew lines of <br />pipe, conduits, cables, wires, gas mains, underground conduits, poles, anchors, and other convenient <br />
