City of Colton <br />Engineering Department <br />Request for Proposals for Professional Land Surveying and Associated Services. <br />Background <br />City of Colton (City) is seeking proposals for Professional Surveying and associated <br />services described below. City has occasional needs for right-of-way boundary <br />surveying, construction staking and topographical design control and sections for a <br />variety of City Projects. <br />Scope of Services <br />1. Consultant must be a professional Land Surveyor, with a current and valid State of <br />California L.S. registration license or professional Civil Engineer with a current and <br />valid registration which meets the criteria requirements of the Professional Land <br />Surveyor's Act — Business and Professions, Code Sections 8700-8805 <br />2. Consultant must furnish all the necessary equipment to perform required services. <br />3. Consultant to provide copies of all field notes, sketches and other related records <br />used to document the required work and submit to Engineering Department. <br />4. Consultant shall furnish the City with satisfactory proof of carrying the required <br />Certificates for the following policies: <br />Professional Liability Insurance (Errors and Omissions) in the amount of $1,000,000 <br />Workmen's Compensation Insurance <br />Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance in amount of $1,000,000 and in <br />addition, the insurance shall name the City of Colton, the City Engineer, and their <br />officers, agents and employees as " additional insured" under the Policies by specific <br />endorsement. <br />5. Consultant must provide all necessary safety equipment and signage to meet the <br />requirements of Cal/Osha and the State WATCH Manual. <br />6. Consultant to provide final design in an AutoCAD electronic DXF file format to the <br />Engineering Department upon completion of work. <br />7. Consultant shall be able to perform variety of surveying functions, including but not <br />limiting to right-of-way and lot line boundary surveying, construction staking for City <br />Projects, re-establishing Bench Marks and Control Points, collect field datum to <br />develop cross sections for design projects and perform topographic field surveying, <br />including all necessary contour interpolations and plotting finish product. <br />2 <br />
