RESOLUTION NO. R-50-23 <br /> 1 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> COLTON ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A REPORT MADE <br /> BY THE FIRE CHIEF OF THE COLTON FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> 3 REGARDING THE INSPECTION OF CERTAIN OCCUPANCIES <br /> REQUIRED PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 13146.2 AND 13146.3 OF <br /> 4 THE CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE <br /> 5 WHEREAS: California Health & Safety Code Section 13146.4 was added in 2018, and <br /> 6 became effective on September 27, 2018; and <br /> 7 WHEREAS: California Health & Safety Code Sections 13146.2 and 13146.3 requires <br /> 8 all fire departments, including the Colton Fire Department, that provide fire protection services <br /> to perform annual inspections in every building used as a public or private school, hotel, motel, <br /> 9 <br /> lodging house, apartment house, and certain residential care facilities for compliance with <br /> 10 <br /> building standards, as provided and, <br /> 11 WHEREAS: California Health & Safety Code Section 13146.2 requires all fire <br /> 12 departments, including the Colton Fire Department, that provide fire protection services to <br /> 13 report annually to its administering authority on its compliance with Sections 13146.2 and <br /> 14 13146.3 and, <br /> 15 WHEREAS: The City Council of the City of Colton intends this Resolution to fulfill the <br /> requirements of the California Health & Safety Code regarding acknowledgement of the Colton <br /> 16 <br /> Fire Department's compliance with California Health and Safety Code Sections 13146.2 and <br /> 17 13146.3. <br /> 18 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br /> 19 HEREBY EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE THE MEASURE OF COMPLIANCE OF <br /> 20 THE COLTON FIRE DEPARTMENT WITH CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY <br /> 21 CODE SECTIONS 13146.2 AND 13146.3 IN THE AREA ENCOMPASSED BY THE <br /> CITY OF COLTON FIRE DEPARTMENT,AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 22 <br /> SECTION 1. EDUCATIONAL GROUP E OCCUPANCIES: <br /> 23 Educational Group E occupancies are generally those public and private schools, used by <br /> 24 more than six persons at any one time for educational purposes through the 12th grade. <br /> 25 Within the City of Colton there lie 12 Group E occupancies, buildings, structures, and/or <br /> 26 facilities. <br /> 27 During fiscal year 2022-2023, the Colton Fire Department completed the annual <br /> inspection of 12 Group E occupancies,buildings, structures, and/or facilities. <br /> 28 <br /> This is a compliance rate of 100% for this reporting period. <br /> SECTION 2. RESIDENTIAL GROUP R OCCUPANCIES: <br />
