RESOLUTION NO. R-50-23 1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A REPORT MADE BY THE FIRE CHIEF OF THE COLTON FIRE DEPARTMENT 3 REGARDING THE INSPECTION OF CERTAIN OCCUPANCIES REQUIRED PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 13146.2 AND 13146.3 OF 4 THE CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE 5 WHEREAS: California Health & Safety Code Section 13146.4 was added in 2018, and 6 became effective on September 27, 2018; and 7 WHEREAS: California Health & Safety Code Sections 13146.2 and 13146.3 requires 8 all fire departments, including the Colton Fire Department, that provide fire protection services to perform annual inspections in every building used as a public or private school, hotel, motel, 9 lodging house, apartment house, and certain residential care facilities for compliance with 10 building standards, as provided and, 11 WHEREAS: California Health & Safety Code Section 13146.2 requires all fire 12 departments, including the Colton Fire Department, that provide fire protection services to 13 report annually to its administering authority on its compliance with Sections 13146.2 and 14 13146.3 and, 15 WHEREAS: The City Council of the City of Colton intends this Resolution to fulfill the requirements of the California Health & Safety Code regarding acknowledgement of the Colton 16 Fire Department's compliance with California Health and Safety Code Sections 13146.2 and 17 13146.3. 18 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES 19 HEREBY EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE THE MEASURE OF COMPLIANCE OF 20 THE COLTON FIRE DEPARTMENT WITH CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY 21 CODE SECTIONS 13146.2 AND 13146.3 IN THE AREA ENCOMPASSED BY THE CITY OF COLTON FIRE DEPARTMENT,AS FOLLOWS: 22 SECTION 1. EDUCATIONAL GROUP E OCCUPANCIES: 23 Educational Group E occupancies are generally those public and private schools, used by 24 more than six persons at any one time for educational purposes through the 12th grade. 25 Within the City of Colton there lie 12 Group E occupancies, buildings, structures, and/or 26 facilities. 27 During fiscal year 2022-2023, the Colton Fire Department completed the annual inspection of 12 Group E occupancies,buildings, structures, and/or facilities. 28 This is a compliance rate of 100% for this reporting period.
