• <br /> a <br /> i• <br /> .' <br /> 4 r f <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2274 <br /> AMENDMENTS TO CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND <br /> REGULATIONS ADOPTED APRIL 3, 1962. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Colton that Resolution <br /> No. 2240 be amended as follows: <br /> Section 1. That a new section is hereby added to Resolution No. 2240 to be <br /> numbered Rule I Section 2A which reads as follows: <br /> RULE I <br /> SECTION 2A: "Appointment": The designation of a person by due authority to <br /> become an employee in a position and the signing of the proper <br /> forms to properly record that designation and the acceptance by <br /> the person of the position and conditions included as provided in <br /> these rules and the State Law. <br /> Section 2. That Rule I, Sections 7, 8 and 13 are hereby amended to read as • <br /> follows: <br /> SECTION 7. "Demotion": The movement of an employee and corresponding r' <br /> change in his employment status from one class to another class `. <br /> having a lower maximum rate of pay. <br /> SECTION 8: "Eligible": A person whose name is on an employment list, a re- <br /> employment list or promotional list and who is not ineligible for <br /> appointment for any reason. <br /> SECTION 13: "Promotion": The movement of an employee and corresponding <br /> change in his employment status from one class to another class <br /> with a higher maximum rate of pay. <br /> Section 3. That Rule VI, Sections 1 and 3 be amended to read as follows: <br /> RULE ' VI <br /> Section 1. Announcement: All examinations for classes in the comu ,tt've <br /> service shall be published by posting announcements in the City Hall on official <br /> bulletin boards and in other places as the Civil Service Board deems advisable. The <br /> announcements shall specify the title and pay range of the class for which the exam:...-~at..on <br /> is announced; the nature of the work to be performed; preparation desirable for the <br /> performance of the work of the class; minimum qualifications for the class; the dates, <br /> time, place and manner of making applications; the general scope of examination and <br /> relative weights to be given to its several parts; and other pertinent information. <br />
