CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
For the Colton Utility Authority Meeting of April 5, 2001
TO: HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND TILITY AUTHORITY MEMBERS
APPROVAL: HENRY T. GARCIA, CITY MANAGE , /
FROM: THOMAS K. CLARKE, UTILITIES DIRECTORV`
SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF FUTURE ANNEXATION AGREEMENT FOR
11575 RECHE CANYON ROAD
DATE: MARCH 22, 2001
BACKGROUND:
The Colton Utility Authority has previously indicated that in order to supply water or
sewer services to an unincorporated area, the property owner must agree to future
annexation of the property into the City of Colton.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
Attached is an Agreement for Future Annexation of the property located at 11575 Reche
Canyon Road, which is located in the County of San Bernardino's jurisdiction. The
Agreement is a condition for allowing the property owner to connect to the City's sewer
system.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The removal of septic systems prevents groundwater contamination, and is one of the
primary goals of the Regional Water Quality Control Board.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The sewer connection fees will be paid upon permit approval for connection to the City's
sewer system, and once connected monthly sewer charges will be collected.
LEGAL REVIEW:
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Colton Utility Authority approve the Agreement for Future
Annexation of the property located at 11575 Reche Canyon Road, and authorize the
recordation of the same.
Report Prepared By: Lorraine June
uarechecanyonswrannex
Item #15
