1 RESOLUTION NO„ 2491 <br /> RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION <br /> 2 TO THE CITY OF COLTON OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY <br /> DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "EAST COLTON <br /> 3 ANNEXATION NO. 22 " AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME <br /> AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO. <br /> 4 <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br /> 5 <br /> 1 . That, pursuant to the provisions of the Anne ration <br /> 6 <br /> of Uninhabited: Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been <br /> 7 <br /> initiated by the Council of the City of Colton, on its own <br /> 8 <br /> motion, to annex to the City of Colton all that uninhabited <br /> 9 <br /> territory situate in the County of San Bernardino, State of <br /> 10 <br /> California, described as follows : <br /> 11 <br /> That portion of Lot 3, Block 64, Rancho San Bernardino, <br /> 12 recorded in Book 7 of Maps, Pa e 2, filed in the office of <br /> g <br /> { the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino, State <br /> 13 of California, described as follows : <br /> 14 Beginning at the centerline intersections of Mt. Vernon <br /> Avenue and Cooley Lane; thence East along the centerline <br /> 15 of Cooley Lane a distance of 690 feet; thence South <br /> parallel to the West line of said Lot 3, 120 feet to <br /> 16 the intersection of the existing corporate limits of <br /> the City of Colton; thence West along said City limits <br /> 17 a distance of 550 feet ; thence along said City limits <br /> the following courses and distances ; South 320 feet; <br /> 18 thence Southeasterly 395 .9 feet; thence leaving said <br /> City limits west, parallel to the North line of said <br /> 19 Lot 3, a distance of 410 feet to the centerline of <br /> Mt. Vernon Avenue; thence North along said centerline <br /> 20 to the Point of Beginning. (3 .61 AC) <br /> 21 2 . That the Council of the City of Colton desires to <br /> 22 annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Colton for <br /> 23 the following reasons : The territory is contiguous to the City <br /> 24 of Colton and its proposed annexation will contribute to and <br /> 25 facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City <br /> 26 and the territory proposed to be annexed; will facilitate and <br /> 27 contribute to the proper and orderly layout, design and <br /> 28 construction of streets, gutters, sidewalks, sanitary and storm <br /> 29 water sewers and drainage facilities, both within the City <br /> 30 and within the territory proposed to be annexed; and will <br /> 31 provide and facilitate proper overall planning and zoning of <br /> 32 lands, and subdivision of lands in said City and said <br />
