The foregoing recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein <br />by reference. <br />SECTION 2. The City proposes to initiate proceedings to discontinue and abandon <br />the use of that portion of Veterans Park described herein as Parcel A as a public park. <br />SECTION 3. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the public interest <br />and convenience require the discontinuance and abandonment of the use of Parcel A as a <br />public park because in exchange for Parcel A, the City will receive a much larger area of land <br />that will be used for public park purposes and the exchange will allow for easier vehicular <br />access to Veterans Park. <br />SECTION 4. A public hearing on the discontinuance and abandonment of the <br />portion of Veterans Park described herein as Parcel A shall be held at 6:00 p.m. on July 17, <br />2001 in the City Council Chambers located at 650 N. La Cadena Drive, Colton, California. <br />SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall publish and cause to be posted this Resolution <br />and a notice of the time and place of said hearing as required by sections 38445 through <br />38447 of the California Government Code. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of June, 2001. <br />ATTEST: <br />CAROLINA P.
