R-49-01- <br />RESOLUTION <br />-49-01 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON FOR <br />ACCEPTANCE OF SB5X FUNDS AND MODIFICATION OF UTILITY'S <br />APPROPRIATION FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT EXPENDITURES <br />WHEREAS, approximately $40 Million in State funds have been made available for <br />Low -Income Public Benefits; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton's prorata share is $179,000 of these funds and the Utility <br />designs programs to create the best benefits to the citizens of Colton; and <br />WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the citizens of Colton to make use of <br />these funds to implement cost-effective conservation programs, namely Single -Family <br />Housing Low -Income Energy Audit, Single -Family Housing Low -Income HVAC Evaporative <br />Coolers, Multi -Family Complexes Low -Income Audit, Multi -Family Complexes Low -Income <br />HVAC Evaporative Coolers, and include a Commercial Lighting Rebate; and <br />WHEREAS, implementation of these programs as described in 'Attachment A' and <br />'Attachment B', which are made a part hereof, are aimed at replacement of inefficient <br />lighting with more efficient lighting sources and for taking actions to reduce energy use and <br />costs which are mutually beneficial to citizens and the Utility in the current energy situation; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Colton hereby resolves to accept <br />funds from SB5X and make modification of Utility's appropriation for Public Benefit <br />Expenditures as described herein. <br />PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 5th day of June, 2001. <br />ATTEST: <br />CAROLINA P.
