1 tions to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the <br /> 2 owner or owners of property affected and the description and area of such <br /> 3 property, in general terms, <br /> 4 5. The City Clerk of the City of Colton is hereby authorized and <br /> 5I directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but <br /> 6 not oftener than once a week, in the Colton Courier, a newspaper of general <br /> 7 circulation published in said City of Colton, the city to which it is proposed <br /> 8 to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the San Bernardino Sun, a news- <br /> 9 paper of general circulation published outside the City of Colton, but in the <br /> 10 County of San Bernardino, California, the county in which is located the <br /> 11 territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Colton, said publication to be <br /> 12 complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. <br /> 13 6, The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written <br /> 14 notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land <br /> 15 within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized <br /> 16 county assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedings were <br /> 17 initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to the <br /> 18 Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designa- <br /> 19 tion of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with <br /> 20 the Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20 days before the <br /> 21 first public hearing on the proposed annexation, <br /> 22 7, In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is <br /> 23 owned by a county, the City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such <br /> 24 proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of the county, <br /> 25 such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public <br /> 26 hearing on the proposed annexation, <br /> 27 8. In the event there is, upon the land proposed to be annexed, a <br /> 28 structural improvement owned, being acquired or leased by a county fire <br /> 29 protection district, the said Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such <br /> 30 proposed annexation to be mailed to the governing body of such district, such <br /> 31 notice to be sent not less than ten (10) days before the first public hearing <br /> 32 upon such proposed annexation, <br />
