CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 21, 2006 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: Daryl Parrish, City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Approve Resolution Supporting the 1-10 Corridor Analysis Vision, <br />Goals, Guidelines and Implementation Actions. <br />DATE: February 21, 2006 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In January 2006, the County of San Bernardino initiated and funded a study of the aesthetics, land <br />use, and circulation of the Interstate 10 Freeway (I-10 Corridor Analysis). The Cities of Colton <br />Fontana, Ontario, and Rialto, as well as representatives from CalTrans and SANBAG have actively <br />participated in the I-10 Corridor Analysis by developing visions, goals, guidelines and <br />implementation actions. It is important to continue the development strategies identified in the 1-10 <br />Corridor Analysis to identify future economic development and circulation routes either as a <br />collective group or as individual jurisdictions. Each jurisdiction is responsible to commensurate its <br />ability to implement action or allocate funding. <br />DISC USSION/ANALYSIS: <br />City staff will continue coordinating and collaborating with the participating agencies to address <br />issues identified in the 1-10 Corridor Analysis. Any potential action items and/or opportunities that <br />arise from the on-going collaboration with participating jurisdictions will be submitted to the City <br />Council. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />There is no immediate financial impact to the General Fund. Any potential future expenses <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST — <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council Approves and Adopts a Resolution Supporting the 1-10 <br />Corridor Analysis Vision, Goals, Guidelines and Implementation Actions. <br />Attachment: Resolution <br />Prepared by: Josefina M.
