R-20-06 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON IN SUPPORT OF THE INTERSTATE 10 <br />CORRIDOR ANALYSIS VISION, GOALS, GUIDELINES <br />AND IMPLEMENTATION ACTIONS. <br />WHEREAS, the Interstate 10 Freeway is recognized as a major east west <br />thoroughfare that will play a significant role in the future development of the City of Colton <br />and adjacent cities; and <br />WHEREAS, the segment of the Interstate 10 Freeway within City of Colton and <br />adjacent properties (hereinafter the 1-10 Corridor') are key components of Colton's <br />economic development and circulation routes; <br />WHEREAS, the County of San Bernardino initiated and funded a study of the <br />aesthetics, land use, and circulation of the 1-10 Corridor dated January 2004 (hereinafter <br />the 1-10 Corridor Analysis"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton, along with the County of San Bernardino and the <br />Cities of Fontana, Ontario and Rialto, as well as representatives from CalTrans and <br />SANBAG, have actively participated in the 1-10 Corridor Analysis; and <br />WHEREAS, there has been a history of efforts to improve the 1-10 Corridor, and <br />CalTrans has actively used the guidance provided by the 1-10 Master Landscape Plan and <br />Design Guidelines; and <br />WHEREAS, it is important to continue the development of strategies to improve the <br />1-10 Corridor, identifying ways to make change either as a collective group or as individual <br />jurisdictions, at a rate that is commensurate with each jurisdiction's ability to implement <br />action or allocate funding; and <br />
