Echevarria, MPT <br /> Council Members Absent <br /> None <br /> CEREMONIAL MATTERS <br /> Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br /> • Proclamation—Fire Chief <br /> Mayor Navarro read and presented a Proclamation Certificate to Fire Chief Tim McHargue in honor of his <br /> 34 years in fire service and for his 22 years of distinguished and professional service rendered to this <br /> organization,the community and the citizens of Colton. The Mayor congratulated Chief McHargue for his <br /> retirement date with is set to be June 28, 2024. Chief McHargue expressed his appreciation for his wife and <br /> family members who were present in the audience, and went on to briefly describe how his journey began <br /> with the City of Colton and how positive the experience has been. <br /> • Proclamation—Parks and Recreation Month <br /> CM Toro presented a Proclamation for Parks and Recreation Month; accepted by Kate lyn Rodriguez, <br /> Recreation Coordinator. <br /> • Recognition—SCE Scholarship Award to Colton High Student <br /> Shane Massoud, from Southern CA Edison, introduced scholarship award recipient, Shantel Marentes, and <br /> recognized her accomplishment demonstrating academic excellence, leadership, and a passion for the STEM <br /> field. CM Gonzalez presented Shantel with a recognition certificate from the City of Colton recognizing her <br /> accomplishment. Edison International presented Shantel with a giant check for $50, 000. Shantel expressed <br /> her appreciation for receiving the scholarship award and the recognition and thanked her father, who was in <br /> the audience, her family, and her teachers who have encouraged her. <br /> June 18,2024 Regular City Council Meeting 2- <br />
