ITEM #14 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF JUNE 20, 2006 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />FROM: AMER JAKHER, P.E., PW DIRECTOR/CITY ENGINEER <br />SUBJECT: AUTHORIZE THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR SOUTH <br />COLTON STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CDBG <br />PROJECT #104-31205/2766). <br />DATE: JUNE 8, 2006 <br />On February 7, 2006, the City Council authorized the award of contract for the South Colton Street <br />Improvement Project (CDBG Project #104-31205/2766) to Hardy and Harper, Inc.of Santa Ana, <br />California. This project is part of the CIP (Capital Improvement Program) and is scheduled for <br />construction in fiscal year 2005/2006. The Project scope includes asphalt pavement <br />reconstruction, installation of concrete gutter, and replacement of damaged concrete curbs and <br />cross gutters. Streets included on the Project are Pine Street, Kirk Street, Ash Street, Berry Street, <br />Cedar Street, and Congress Street Also included in the Project's scope of work, which was <br />awarded as an optional bid item is the pavement rehabilitation of Roberta Court (from Johnston <br />St. to cul-de-sac) and Esperanza Street (from Ohio Ave. to east end). <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />Hardy and Harper, Inc. completed the project satisfactorily, in the total amount of $351,570.55. <br />The contract was awarded to Hardy and Harper in the amount of $366,013.95 and the project <br />resulted in a savings of $14,443.40.
