CM Hernandez requested clarification <br />on the need to have the appointee to vacate. City Attorney Derleth explained that the maker <br />can vacate as part of the motion. <br />Motion amended to vacate and appoint Mayor Bennett as the appointment. <br />Discussion continued with CM De La Rosa expressing his opinion as to why the need for <br />change being part of the regular process, and acknowledged the good work CM Chastain has <br />done during her service. <br />Vote: Motion carried with Councilmembers Hernandez, Mitchell and Chastain voting "no". <br />BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS: <br />y Appointments — Pursuant to MC§ Section 2.30.030 — Manner of Appointment. <br />None <br />AGENDA REVIEW: City Manager. <br />City Manager Parrish presented Consent Calendar Items No. (s) 6 thru 21, for approval. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Apolinar Espudo, requested that Item 10 not be accepted as the company was still under <br />investigation. <br />CM Suchil requested further explanation on Items 10 and 17 as he had questions on the fiscal <br />impact if monies not accepted. Finance Director De Alwis explained that the monies were <br />pledged to purchase additional fire hoses and increase fire department budget. CM Suchil <br />suggested holding off on the acceptance of monies until the company is in compliance and <br />asked City Attorney if this was not an appearance of credence.
