" <br />(d) There is hereby adopted a Section to be numbered Section 16. a, <br />I Article XV. <br />"Section 16. a. IncreasincState Speed Limit in Certain Zones. i <br />It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic JI <br />investigation that the speed permitted by State Law upon the following streets <br />is less than is necessary for safe operation of vehicles thereon by reason of the <br />designation and sign -posting of said streets as through highways and (or) by <br />I <br />reason of widely spaced intersections 11 and, it is. hereby declared that the prima <br />facie speed limit shall be as hereinafter set forth on those streets or parts of <br />streets herein designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof: <br />Name of Street or Declared Prima Facie <br />Portion aff ected Speed Limit <br />"I" Street from loth to Mt. Vernon to 8th St. 35 MPH <br />Colton Ave.from loth to Fairview 35 MPH <br />(e) There is hereby adopted a Section to be numbered 16B, Article XV. <br />Section 16B. Regulation of Speed by Traffic Signals. <br />The City Engineer is authorized to regulate the timing of traffic <br />signals so as to permit the movement of traffic in an orderly and safe manner <br />at speeds slightly at variance from the speeds otherwise applicable within the <br />district or at intersections and shall erect appropriate signs giving notice <br />thereof..'. ,. <br />
