+ MPT Toro introduced BO, the Colton Fire Department's new and first "Emotional Support Service dog, and presented a certificate of recognition to the Fire Department for their efforts in welcoming the City of Colton's first Emotional Support dog. Fire Chief Bruno received the recognition certificate and expressed his appreciation for the City Council's continued support. Fire Chief Bruno invited Fire Captain Ingle to share a little more about Bo and how he will be helping the Fire Department and the City of Colton. Mayor and Council Items: Gift Disclosures - None AB 1234 Oral Reports - None Appointments - None Mayor and Council Discussion Items 1) 4th of July Staff Recap & Discussion (MPT Toro) A Power Point presentation was presented to the council by Chief Vega. Discernment and discussion between Councilmembers who had questions and concerns about firework citations and protocols, and staff responded to those questions with clarification. A proposal was recommended by the City Council to City Manager to agendize this item at their next council meeting so a "Fireworks Haddock Committee" be formed. This recommendation was supported by a majority of the council. The City Clerk submitted the notice of Public Hearing (on file in the City Clerk's Office) and reported that there were no letters of opposition received for this item. Staff Presentation Heidi Duron, Director of Development Services, provided council with an overview of the agenda item using a Power Point presentation. Public Hearing Comment - No cards were submitted. Public Hearing Closed A motion was made to Close the Public Hearing by Luis S. Gonzalez, with a second by Kelly Chastain.
