EXHIBIT "A" <br />SCOPE OF MAINTENANCE SERVICES <br />Provide Sewer Cleaning/Debris Removal Services for the City's Wastewater Collection System <br />1.0 Detailed Specifications <br />1.1 Cleaning of sewer lines and related appurtenances — The work required by the project <br />shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment; performing all work <br />necessary to clean and remove debris from the designated sewers and appurtenant <br />structures; sewer flow control to the extent required; and, transportation and disposal of <br />all such debris to the city's grit screenings mixing area; all in accordance with these <br />specifications and all applicable local, state and federal rules, laws, regulations, and <br />ordinances pertaining to the work. The work shall consist of the following tasks as <br />determined by each site visited: <br />1.1.1 Sewer line cleaning by use of the most applicable equipment for the type, <br />configuration and size of sewer to be cleaned. Sewer line cleaning shall be <br />performed with hydraulically propelled, vactors, high velocity jet, mechanically <br />powered or manual cleaning equipment. Equipment selection shall be based on <br />field conditions such as access to manholes, type and quantity of debris to be <br />removed, size and configuration of sewer, and rate of sewage flow. <br />Sewer cleaning shall be conducted from the downstream to the upstream <br />manhole of the section being cleaned, unless a major blockage requires debris <br />removal from both the upper and lower end manhole of the section being <br />cleaned. <br />1.1.2 Debris removal, transportation and transfer shall be performed in a safe and <br />efficient manner in strict compliance with all local, state and federal laws, rules, <br />regulations, and ordinances. All liquids must be drained from the debris before <br />the debris can be transported offsite. <br />1.1.3 Sewer flow control, to the extent that it becomes necessary during the <br />performance of the work, shall be performed using accepted industry standard <br />equipment and practices. Contractor must provide documentation acceptable to <br />the City's Representative that diversion of flow will not adversely impact the <br />sewer system by contributing to system backups and/or public and private <br />property flooding. Contractor must remove flow control device(s) at the end of <br />each workday. Device(s) may not be left in place during rain events, overnight or <br />on weekends. <br />RVPUB\NGS\529338 12 <br />
