CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF JULY 15. 2008 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: Exec. Asst./Council Office Manager Adelfa Flores <br />SUBJECT: League Voting of Delegate & Alternate <br />DATE: July 16, 2008 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Every year, the Colton City Council appoints a new voting delegate and an alternate delegate to <br />represent our City in matters affecting municipal or League policies. At last years' conference, Mayor <br />Kelly Chastain served as the voting delegate and Mayor Pro Tem John Mitchell was the alternate <br />delegate. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />This year, the Annual League Conference will be held in Long Beach, California, September 24 -27, <br />2008. Due to League amended bylaws, cities now have the ability to appoint one voting delegate and <br />up to two alternate delegates. The names of the three delegates must be submitted to the League <br />on the attached form by September 5, 2008. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />No financial impact, other than the costs associated with the council members attending conference. <br />Travel funds were approved for FY 2008-2009 and are available in the Travel & Meetings Account # <br />100-6000-6000-2280. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL: Not Applicable. <br />CONFLICT OF INTEREST: Not Applicable. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Appoint three Members of the Colton City Council to represent the City at the League's Annual <br />Conference.
