Staff is recommending the award of Base Bid and <br />Optional Bid in the amount of $645,000. This amount is 5.4% higher than the Engineer's Estimate <br />of $610,000. The project will be completed within sixty (60) calendar days from the date which the <br />contractor is issued the Notice to Proceed, as noted in the attached agreement (Exhibit B). If the <br />project experiences delays, liquidated damages in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) will <br />be collected for each day the project is delayed. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />The proposed public improvements are categorically exempt from the requirement of the California <br />Environmental Quality Act (Public Resources Code §§ 21000 et seq.) ("CEQA") pursuant to <br />Section 15301 (c) of the State CEQA Guidelines [minor alterations to existing streets].
