Staff is recommending the award of the Base Bid and Optional Bid 1 and 2 in the amount of $125,875.00. The project will be completed within thirty (30) calendar days from the date which the contractor is issued the Notice to Proceed, as noted in the attached agreement (Exhibit B). If the project experiences delays, liquidated damages in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) will be collected for each day the project is delayed. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The requested award amount of $125,875 will provide for the construction of the following projects: • Sperry at I-10 Drainage Improvement Project ($24,880) • Glenwood/Reche Canyon Drainage Improvement Project ($33,845) • Reche Canyon Road Drainage and Street Improvement Project ($33,200) • Construction of Storm Drain at Lark Street Project ($33,950). The funding for the Sperry at I-10 Drainage Improvement Project is Traffic Congestion Relief Funds, these funds are available in expenditure account 450-1010-6910-3890. Budget Year -to -Date Expenditures Open Encumbrances Available Funds $375,495.66 $0.00 1 $0.00 $375,495.66 Staff requests the following expenditure accounts be allocated available infrastructure funds: • 450-1010-6970-3890; Glenwood/Reche Canyon Drainage Improvement Project; o $35,000; Measure I • 450-1011-6910-3890; Construction of Storm Drain at Lark Street Project; o $35,000; Traffic Congestion Relief Funds. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: The proposed public improvements are Exempt under Section 15301 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Notice of Exemption will be filed with the County of San Bernardino prior to the construction of the identified project improvements.
