'R-102-• 01 <br />APPROPRIATING THE NECESSARY FUNDS <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />It is recommended that the City Council approve the First Amendment to the existing <br />Professional Services Agreement with R.W. Beck, Incorporated for the North Substation to <br />implement construction management services in the amount of $260,900, and authorize the City <br />Manager to execute the First Amendment with any provisions required by the City Attorney, and <br />adopt Resolution No. R- 102-1 appropriating the necessary funds. <br />GOAL STATEMENT <br />The proposed action will support the City's goal to provide safe, reliable, affordable, and <br />environmentally sustainable electric service. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Colton Electric Utility Department has experienced significant load growth since <br />1995; peak load has increased from approximately 57 megawatts in 1995 to approximately 90 <br />megawatts in 2006. With the increased demands on the distribution system and subsequent <br />deterioration of power quality on a number of circuits, a Ten -Year Master Plan was developed to <br />
