As an at -will position that reports directly to the City Manager, it is also <br />necessary to acknowledge that the position is an at -will position within the authority of the City <br />Manager, as provided for in CMC Sections 2.16.070(B) & (C). <br />This action will essentially accomplish the goal stated in the City's budget resolution (R-32-10) <br />of returning the position of City Clerk to a full-time position, while maintaining the City <br />Council's 2008 goal of making certain that the elected City Clerk perform only the statutory <br />duties mandated for that position. This does not mean that the same person cannot occupy both <br />positions, but it will maintain clarity regarding what duties are performed by an elected official <br />and what duties are performed by a City employee. <br />FISCAL IMPACTS <br />The proposed salary range of $4,832 to $5,953 per month was derived by adding approximately <br />15% to the salary of the City's current Chief Deputy City Clerk classification. This differential is <br />common for a manager to supervisor relationship. Funding for this position was included in the <br />budget resolution (R-32-10), adopted on June 8, 2010. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1. Provide alternative direction to staff <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
