Staff Report to the Mayor and City Council <br />Community Services Department Strategic Plan <br />October 19, 2010 <br />Page 2 <br />This Strategic Plan has been reviewed for input by the Recreation & Parks Commission, the <br />Library Board of Trustees, and the Parks & Recreation Foundation. The Plan was subsequently <br />presented for approval to, and was approved unanimously by the Recreation & Parks <br />Commission on 9/16/09, and by the Library Board of Trustees on 10/27/09. <br />ISSUES/ANALYSIS <br />This Strategic Plan was ready for presentation to the City Council in late 2009, however due to <br />unforeseen circumstances, including temporary suspension of library services, loss of department <br />staff due to staff reduction, and a temporary assignment in the City Manager's Office for the <br />Department Director, the Plan has been delayed in moving forward. The Plan has been updated, <br />with revised dates to reflect this delay. Otherwise, the Plan remains unchanged and is ready for <br />City Council consideration. <br />FISCAL IMPACTS <br />There is no financial impact to the City as the result of this action. The Plan does call for <br />planning and actions that may have future budget effect. Any such effects will be accounted -for <br />in future budgets, or brought forward to City Council as needed for subsequent approval. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />1.
