JOHNSON. <br />Personnel Director <br />SUBJECT: ADOPT Jt)B DESCRIPTION AND APPROVE SALARY RANGE FOR FIRE BATTALION <br />CHIEF <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Fire Chief is proposing a reorganization elsewhere on tonight's agenda. That reorganization includes the <br />establishment of the classification of Fire Battalion Chief. <br />The Fire Chief and i have developed the attached job description and recommended salary range for this <br />classification. It is further recommended that any budgeted positions assigned to this classification be included <br />in the Firefighters' Appropriate Unit for purposes of collective bargaining. A copy of these recommendations <br />has been provided to IAFF Local 935 representatives. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached job description and approve the resolution establishing the <br />salary for Fire Battalion Chief. <br />Concur a_ <br />ity Manager <br />C: AGENDFBC <br />4 <br />
