JHB169925 <br />LAW OFFICES OF � <br />BEST, BEST & KRIEGEt <br />to go forward with the proposed changes, the City Council will need to adopt a resolution <br />placing the ordinance amendments on the ballot. <br />We would note that the City Clerk has called to our attention several <br />provisions of the current ordinance that the City Council may wish to amend in order to <br />more closely reflect changes in the law that have occurred since 1956 as well as new <br />approaches to the employment and termination of the City Manager that the Council may <br />wish to formally implement. Placing the recommended language on the ballot may provide <br />an excellent opportunity to modify the entire ordinance. We would welcome the opportunity <br />to review the ordinance in its entirety and to recommend such additional changes if the <br />Council so directs. <br />JOHN E.
