Brown Act (California Government Code Sections 54950 gI =Q.), and in particular by the provisions of Government Code Section 54957.2(a), to designatetheCity Clerk to attend all closed sessions of the City Council for the purpose of taking minutes of such sessions; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to so designate the City Clerk to attend closed sessions of the City Council to take minutes and to keep the confidential minute book of the City Council. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON HEREBY FINDS, DETERMINES AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: A. The City Clerk is hereby designated to attend all closed session meetings of the City Council and the Agency to take minutes of such sessions. B. The City Clerk is further designated to keep and enter in a minute book a record of topics discussed and decisions made at all closed sessions of the City Council and the Agency pursuant to the provisions of Government Code Section 54957.2. C. In accord with the provisions of Government Code Section 54957.2, the minute book of the City Council shall be kept confidential and shall be made available only to members of the City Council or the Agency as applicable, or in the event that a violation of the Ralph M. Brown Act is alleged to have occurred at a closed session, to a court having general jurisdiction over the City Council.
