CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF JULY 16,1996 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: NABAR ENRIQUE MARTINEZ, CITY MANAGE010 <br />FROM: GRACIE FERNANDEZ HARMON, PERSONNEL DIRECTOR y/y� <br />SUBJECT: RATIFICATION OF EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT TO THE FULL-TIME <br />POSITION OF FIREFIGHTER SPECIALIST IN THE FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: JULY 8,1996 <br />BACKGROUND: There is one (1) vacant Firefighter Specialist position in the Fire Department. <br />This position became vacant on June 9, 1996. Attached is the job description for the classification; <br />salary range is $2,708- $3,293 per month. <br />_DTSCUSSTON/ANALYSTS: Recruitment for said position was conducted from April 28, 1995 to <br />May 21, 1995. This recruitment was administered in coordination with five other local agencies. <br />Practical examinations were held in May 1995 by the Regional Fire Training Center at Crafton Hills <br />College. Written examinations were held in June 1995 and administered by the City of San <br />Bernardino. An eligibility list was established on September 6, 1995. The candidate being referred for <br />Council ratification meets the education and experience requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: This is a general fund position and is funded in the 1996-97 fiscal year as <br />follows: Acco nt No. 01-2101-02 (salary) and Account No. 01-2101-10 (salary related benefits). <br />David G.
